This is the question asked by so many men, is it possible to regain hair loss? Let’s examine the causes of hairloss and at the same time answer the question about the possibility of regaining hair loss.

There is a range of different causes of baldness and thinning hair in men however it is quite clear that one cause stands head and shoulders above the rest. Male pattern baldness is the single most important cause of baldness in men.

Statistically the chances of a man having male pattern baldness are about 4 in 7. It is estimated that around a quarter of all men will start balding before 30 and by the age of 60 over 60% will have some form of thinning hair. Of course not all baldness in men is caused by male pattern baldness, there are also other causes of thinning hair in men.

For example one of the other causes of male thinning hair is medical conditions. There are a range of medical conditions that can cause hair loss and for this reason we always recommend to any man who is noticing a thinning of his hair that he visit his doctor to confirm that he is not suffering from any particular medical condition that may lead to hair loss.

Many medical conditions that cause hair loss can be successfully treated and once the condition is successfully treated the man will often regain hair lost because of the medical condition. Similarly there are various medications which can cause hair loss at your doctor ought always explain possible side effects of any medication to you so that you can anticipate that you may lose some hair.

One of the most well-known treatments that can cause hair loss is of course chemotherapy.

And as well as medical conditions it is also known that a poor diet low in essential nutrients can also contribute to hair loss. A diet low in fresh fruit and vegetables and high in red meat can lead to some loss of hair and stress can also affect the health of your hair. If these are the only conditions causing the thinning hair then by changing the diet to a diet high in essential nutrients may well help you to regain hair loss.

Of course it’s entirely possible that your thinning hair is the result of a combination of factors, for example you may be suffering from male pattern baldness and also have a diet low in essential vitamins and minerals. We would expect in this case that an improvement in diet would have some effect at slowing the hair loss however it is unlikely that this will be a sufficient hair loss cure without attacking the basis of the problem, namely the male pattern baldness.

However as we said the overwhelming cause of baldness in men is male pattern baldness, or what is technically known as androgenetic alopecia. This is a condition inherited by men from previous members of their family and which affects a substantial proportion of our male population. Let’s examine the specific causes of male pattern baldness and ask if it is possible to regain hair loss resulting from this condition.

Male pattern baldness is an inherited condition but this does not mean that any man with male pattern baldness is destined to go bald. The mechanism by which male pattern baldness operates is now well-known. It relates to the operation of the male hormone testosterone and specifically to another male hormone called DHT which is derived from testosterone. The research shows that men with thinning hair as a result of male pattern baldness have high levels of DHT.
Regain Hair Loss

The specific operation of the DHT is this. It attaches to the base of hair follicles and inhibits the ability of the follicle to take in essential nutrients. Good hair health is heavily dependent on good levels of nutrients and hair which is deprived of nutrients will thin, weaken and in many cases shrivel and die.

Hair on our heads does not live forever. Normally at the end of the hair life cycle a hair will die and be replaced by new hair. This is normal however those suffering from male pattern baldness have an increase in weakening and death of hair and a reduction in growth of new hair and this gradually results in thinning of the hair and noticeable loss of hair.

Now that science understands the mechanism by which hair is lost in sufferers of male pattern baldness it has been able to develop a successful hair loss cure. The first hair loss cure recognized as a treatment for male pattern baldness by the FDA, and still considered to be the best, is called minoxidil. This is marketed under a range of different product names. Minoxidil helps the hair follicles to take up nutrients better .

Minoxidil works effectively to increase the blood flow to the hair follicles, thereby increasing their ability to take in more nutrients. However whilst it is possible to regain hair loss from male pattern baldness purely from the use of minoxidil, it makes more sense, once the ability of the hair follicle to uptake nutrients is increased, to provide all those nutrients in optimal amounts. One product now does this.

This product is called Provillus. The logic behind Provillus is just as we said. By providing all the essential hair nutrients their hair follicles are then able to achieve optimum hair health and therefore grow better, as well as improving their ability to take them up, help regrow hair. And included is some natural ingredients such as Saw Palmetto which has been shown to have a role in reducing the actions of the DHT, thereby increasing the ability of the hair to take up the nutrients now available to it.

At the start of this article we ask the question is possible to regain hair loss. In many cases it is by the use of the best hairloss cure called Provillus. However it is not possible to regain hair loss in all cases. It doesn’t work for everyone. Read the rest of this entry

If you’re a man hair loss can be a serious worry. A large percentage of the male population experience male hair loss. However thinning hair is not restricted to men. Pattern baldness is much more common in men and women but not restricted to men. But if you’re a man hair loss is much more likely.

Everyone loses hair. The average scalp loses many hairs every day and this is not a problem. Hair is not live forever. The average hair lives for around 5 years and at the end of its life will die and fall out. Normally is replaced by a new hair and there is no reduction in overall hair.

However if you’re a man, hair loss from male pattern baldness means that more hairs fall out than are replaced and gradually your hair, usually on the top of your scalp, starts to thin. Over a period of years it gets thinner until a bald spot develops which will get larger until for many men there is just a ring of hair left around the edges of the scalp.

If this has happened to you then you have male pattern baldness, an inherited condition. Between the ages of 20 to 45 men who are suffering from male hair loss and 95 percent likely to have male pattern baldness.

The some men can start early, even in the teenage years, and to some it can start late and progress very slowly. The progression of male pattern baldness varies enormously from one man to another.

Male pattern baldness, or what is scientifically known as androgenetic alopecia, is the most common reason the loss of hair in a man. Hair loss causes in men are not restricted to male pattern baldness however this is by far the most common cause.

In the past androgenetic alopecia was not well understood. It was known that it was an inherited condition because it was quite clear over the generations that baldness ran in the family. Therefore once genetics were understood it was clear that male pattern baldness was a genetic condition.

However even though it was known to be a genetic condition the reasons for the loss of hair and subsequent baldness were not really understood. For many years scientists tried to understand what it was about inherited genes that caused male hairloss, and tried to find a way to stop male hair loss.

The answer has been discovered relatively recently. It is now known that the cause of male and female pattern hair loss is a hormone called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone). The way it works is this. In the body testosterone is converted to DHT by the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase. This DHT adversely affects the health and longevity of hair follicles. The DHT works on the hair follicle by means of hormone receptors in the follicle and effectively blocks much of the essential nutrients that hair needs to be healthy.

Result of this is that your hair follicles become weaker, the hair becomes thinner and it does not reproduce as successfully. As a result hair gradually reduces in volume and becomes noticeably thinner until the bald spot develops.

Fortunately for us this is now well studied and well proven. It is now common knowledge that pattern baldness is caused by the actions of DHT and that those who are genetically disposed to pattern baldness have greater levels of DHT attached to their hair follicles on their head.

Once the cause of hair loss was fully understood it was possible to develop successful hair loss treatments. However it’s important to say that if you’re a man, hair loss treatments will not work for you if it is too late. It’s too late when the hair on your head is gone. If you’re suffering from thinning of the hair right now then right now is when you need to tackle the problem.

The first product which has been accepted by the FDA is a hair loss treatment is called minoxidil. Minoxidil has been proven effective in most cases of male pattern baldness that are not too advanced and it works by increasing the blood flow to the hair follicles so that they can take in more nutrients. It was originally developed for a role in treating high blood pressure but it was found that a side effect was that it grew more hair.
Man Hair Loss

Minoxidil is available under various names. The very best minoxidil treatment is available under the name of Provillus. Provillus has shown itself to be an excellent baldness treatment for the following reasons:

We mentioned the fact that DHT restricts the flow of nutrients to the hair follicle. If the effects of DHT are blocked the hair follicle can return to good health only where the essential nutrients for hair growth are all available. A supply of Provillus provides not only the essential hair nutrients but also includes natural ingredients like Saw Palmetto that help block the effects of the DHT.

As you can see, now that the cause of pattern baldness is now understood, there are effective treatments. Minoxidil on its own will only go so far because their hair still needs adequate supplies of essential nutrients. Provillus supplies these as well, and also products to help block the DHT.

But remember what we said. If you’re a man hair loss will become permanent after a certain point. Even Provillus cannot grow hair on a bald head. If you’re finding that your hair is thinning now is the time to act by getting 2 months free supply of Provillus and try it for yourself. Read the rest of this entry
